  • Faith

Description of Faith "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see" (Hebrews 11:1)

"Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." (Hebrews 11:6)

  • Miracle Dude

So, we have an addition to the family.  His name may not stick but for now we are calling him Miracle Dude.  He is an 8 week old kitten.  My husband found him in the radiator of my van while he was changing the oil one week ago.  He is absolutely adorable and sooooo lovable.  He fits in to our family very nicely - I think.  I'm not exactly sure what his purpose is - but I do believe he came to us for a reason as it is no coincidence that he was found after returning home from church and the prayer on my heart that night was what Pastor Don had mentioned about requesting an "extreme makeover of our hearts".  Hmmmm?

Anyway....we brought him to the vet, he weighs 2 pounds 11 ounces and of course has fleas, ear mites and worms.  It's so nice to hear the purring of a cat again!

Oh, and if anyone has any advice (other then getting another kitten) on how to stop the girls from fighting over him.....I'll take it!  For now....I'm giving them each timed visitation with the kitten.  Gotta love the oven timer!!!

  • Eleven and Thirteen

My darling Haleigh is now Eleven.years.old.  How does that happen?  We are blessed to have her.  She is kind, tenderhearted, funny and friendly all neatly wrapped into one beautiful gift.  It's really kind of funny that the thing I love about her most is also the think that drives me crazy.  She does not care about things that most people do.  You know - looks, clothing labels, hairstyles, etc.  I love it - but I don't.  Strange huh!  For instance, I took her and a couple friends to the movies Friday night and she had been playing at another friends house before we left.  Her jeans were covered in mud and grass stain.  She-did-not-care.  Parts of me wish she were a little more careful with that stuff - but the other part of me loves that she is comfortable with who she is and does not care.  She seems to understand that it really doesn't matter - GOOD FOR YOU HALEIGH!  Happy birthday sweetheart!

We also celebrated our 13th anniversary last week.  Wow.  Looking back on our marriage is crazy.  It's really amazing to see where we were and where we are now.  I wouldn't trade it for the world.  Tom has always been an amazing guy with a huge heart, but now - now with Christ in our life - words cannot explain how much more amazing he is.  We are on the right path and it is really a dream to be walking it with my husband.  He makes me laugh, he makes me cry happy tears, he is the best dad I have ever seen and finally....I feel like we are truly a team.  We have had struggles in those 13 years and things were not always so wonderful....but I'm thankful for those times as they have made us who we are and given us that much more understanding of what Christ has done.

  • It is nice to see Haleigh take on something with passion other then sports.  She is really loving to learn to play the trombone.  I have no idea how to tell if it sounds like it is supposed to.....but I tell her it sounds beautiful!  She is excited about it and I'm happy for her.  Typically if it's not sports related, she is not interested - which is fine - but I'm happy she is considering other things as well.  And it is nice to have music in the house created by someone who actually lives in the house!  Tom and I are not musically inclined at all!

I thought the girls were very creative and found a way for Tom to have a cool hair do!  I'm sure many of you have not seen Tom with hair - or at least it has been a long time since you have.....so I thought I would share:

If you look really close at Haleigh's shorts.....I used to wear those in high school for soccer practice!  They sure do grow way to fast!
